The pentominoes

The word pentomino comes from the Greek "pente" meaning that it is a geometric shape that is linked to other figures, in the case of pentominoes there are five boxes joined at their sides. Only unique and there are twelve pentominoes letters are named because they have the form of letters. The pentominoes formed by rotation are not considered original pantomime.

The original and unique pentominoes are called, are F, I, L, N. P, T, U, V, W, X, Y and Z.

Those who form so-called geometrically by rotation or axial symmetry pro would be: T, V, I, X, U, and W.

These pentominoes are used in many games, such as the famous game Tetris.

There 2d puzzle games called pentomino that tries to fill a rectangle filled squares using only the twelve different types of pentominoes. There are four sizes that are used to this game and are as follows

6 x 10

5 x 12

4 x 15

3 x 20

A person who practices or used to solve puzzles like this does not take long to resolve. Each of the types of boxes has its advantages and disadvantages, in other words has its challenges.

In 1965 a person named John Fletcher fix the rectangle that is 6 x 10 for the first time. The 2339 estimate that there are rotating pentominoes that can be used to solve this riddle.

It was also discovered that the rectangle is 5 x 12 is 1010 solution options. The rectangle 4 x 15 have 368 solutions and finally the smallest rectangle of 3 x 20 only has two solutions.

I think a pentomino is a bit easier than it was in 1958 and was met by a woman named Dana Scott. This variation pentomino has four small square in the center should not be complete and that is why it is easier and has only sixty-five solutions. People created some variations where you can change the location of the four center squares. If for any reason you separate the four squares and place them on every corner, so this puzzle have a solution because none of the twelve pentomino has the form of cover that corner.
