Charismatic Leaders Emerging in these Desperate Times

Our country has experienced a serious crisis with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. CNN and other networks are doing a great job to show Americans what is happening to our neighbors in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

Our television screens are full of people trying desperately to be saved, desperate for food and water, and desperate to find their loved ones. Their lives have been reduced to the clothes they have on how to turn back and in shock, they know they have nowhere to go.

After crossing the shock of being in New York when 9/11, I know that these people are in survival mode. I can feel something right now. All I can think of right now is how to survive moment to moment. We're not thinking they have to pay their bills, or things they have lost. They're planning to keep their families safe and how to get somewhere that has the basic services.

What is so inspiring for me are the many, many people in our country who are stepping to the plate to help. School children, churches, organizations, and even Mary Kay reps are mobilizing the support of people who know to collect money, food and items to help people who have lost everything. These are the heroes who are to lead our country back to greatness. These are the people that we can go further and support.

During the aftermath of 9/11, one of my good friends Katherine went to Ground Zero and offered his services. Before she knew it, was organizing the food for all the rescue workers who were working for months. Katherine has been working until late at night, with no money and no other prize than that it was his civic duty to help these people. He organized the food and distributed food. He worked in the dust and rubble, and got others to join her in her endeavors. This demonstrates the leadership and charisma in desperate times.

Another day, another good friend of mine in Charlotte, NC, Shari sitting in front of the TV like most of us and felt humiliated by what he saw. He did not know how he could help, but from the deepest pit of his soul, knew he had to help those who have been devastated by this hurricane. His idea of his running and has now spread throughout the nation. And 'Mary Kay Reps stimulating contact with every single client that they must sell the products with the intention that the income derived from it will go to victims. Has 138 women in his unit if each of their direct and sell to 10 people and make $ 250 each to donate, then his unit can send about: $ 25 000 to the Red Cross. http://www.marykay.com/sbraendel

What is taking immediate action. What is showing leadership. And is someone who is charismatic and getting others to help NOW.

All we can get information from these women and thousands of others who are stepping to the plate to offer assistance in the form of money, time, ideas and supplies. The call is now to each of us: "What can we do to help?" We can offer a home? We offer supplies? We can give money? We can offer the time? We pray for the survivors?

There is no doubt that our country has been blessed for years and years. We met our basic needs on a daily basis and many of us live with luxuries we now take for granted. We were able to help many countries that are less fortunate than ourselves. Much of this has been done by politicians and leaders who were so kind to raise funds.

But now the crisis has once again hits us at home. We are seeing heroes emerge every day and encourage everyone to lend a hand. Allows you to support their leadership and support our neighbors and show the world, because this country is so great. It can not be defeated and will not be defeated. We get up and do what we do. Those of us who are strong will lead others to safety. No matter how desperate you get. We will still have great people who help the weak. And 'the great people of our country will survive. We may not have our land, but we have the people and this is what constitutes the United States We are still the United States of America the greatest country in the world.
